Cois Sionna Desmond Credit Union is a not for profit, community-based credit union, proudly supporting its 59,000 members across its 15-branch network, located throughout Limerick City and County and the North Kerry region.
The Role
We are delighted to invite applications for the position of Team Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional member service and operational excellence across a number of branches.
This is a full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week, inclusive of Saturdays), with Newcastle West as the base location. The role carries responsibility for a number of branches within the region and requires flexibility to travel and work across the network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management, performance and oversight of branch operations, ensuring consistent service standards, strong governance and an excellent member experience across all locations.
The role combines:
- Operational Leadership – Managing branch operations, cash handling, member services and administrative processes.
- People Leadership – Leading, coaching and developing teams across multiple locations.
- Risk & Compliance – Embedding a strong control environment and a “first line of defence” culture.
- Service & Growth – Supporting member engagement, service improvements and local business growth.
Skills and Competency Requirements
- A professional financial services qualification such as a QFA or relevant Minimum Competency Qualification, or be willing to work towards the same.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer-facing people management role, ideally within a credit union, financial services or regulated environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching and training capability.
- Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face, by telephone and via email.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively when liaising with members.
- Promote a culture that reflects the credit union’s values and encourages high performance and excellent member service.
- Positive drive and energy to achieve results and KPIs.
- Strong administration and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- A proactive problem solver with the ability to manage escalations effectively.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the initiative to identify and implement enhancements.
- Knowledge of Scion (or a similar system) and Microsoft Office.
- Full clean driver’s licence with access to own transport for inter-branch travel.
