Job Vacancy – Credit Controller

Cois Sionna Desmond Credit Union is delighted to invite applications for the role of Credit Controller, on a permanent, full-time basis. The location of the role is dependent on the candidate and may be at one of the credit union’s main offices in either Askeaton, Glin, Newcastle West or Rathkeale. The Role Reporting directly to the Finance & Operations Manager, the Credit Controller will be primarily responsible for the progressive implementation of Cois Sionna Desmond CU’s Credit Control Policy and procedures, providing an efficient service to members within authorised limits, as granted, while minimising the number of accounts in arrears. The role requires the Credit Controller to have a professional manner and work effectively to ensure that members in arrears are supported and financial losses to the credit union are minimised. ILCU Art Competition 2024

The theme of the 2024 Credit Union Art Competition is “The Joys of Life” The competition, now in its 41st year, is one of the most prominent and longest-running competitions of its type across Ireland, this year’s Credit Union Art Competition theme focuses on ‘The Joys of Life’ inviting participants to share what brings them joy and happiness. Celebrating life's simple pleasures and treasured moments through the likes of beautiful sunsets, sharing laughter with friends, or spending time with loved ones, the theme encourages participants to highlight their precious memories. Rental Scams

Fraudsters are continually coming up with new ways to convince students to hand over deposits for properties that don’t exist or have already been rented to multiple tenants, with some even going as far as sending a fake contract and fake keys. They prey on students who feel panicked due to accommodation shortages and pressure them into paying a deposit without doing the necessary checks. Remember if its too good to be true it probably is! Our advice to students and parents: Familiarise yourself with the average rent price in your search area. If the rent is unusually low and it seems too good to be true, it usually is! Do your research, check the Eircode and visit the accommodation to make sure it exists as advertised.
