Welcoming the ILCU to Askeaton
We were delighted to welcome Brendan Jenkins, President, and David Malone, CEO of the Irish League of Credit Unions, to our Askeaton office on Tuesday. Our Chair, Patrick Dooley, extended a warm welcome to Brendan and David, who had the opportunity to meet with our team in Askeaton before joining our Board of Directors for a meeting later that evening. The visit comes at an exciting time for Cois Sionna Desmond Credit Union. Following our merger with Unity Credit Union in May 2026, we now proudly serve 59,000 members across 15 offices throughout Limerick City, County Limerick and North Kerry. A key focus of the evening's discussion was the Credit Union Sector Strategy Project, which commenced in April 2026. This sector-led initiative, supported by the Department of Finance, aims to develop a shared vision for the future of Ireland’s credit union movement and support its continued sustainable growth.
